At MECAPROTEC, every role plays a vital part in our industrial expertise. Painters, surface treatment operators, polyvalents operators, inspectors, and technicians all contribute their know-how and precision to ensure the highest product quality.
Discover these key roles and the  training programmes that support the daily progress of our company.

Painter

Responsible for the assembly and application of paint on individual parts, either as primary protection or final finish.

Work is carried out in a pressurised spray booth (6m x 4m), using appropriate PPE (full-body suit, dual-cartridge respirator or hood, safety shoes, nitrile gloves).

Main tasks
  • Preparation Phase:
    • Identify the necessary preparatory elements and organise your activity (review the manufacturing order, inspect parts, prepare equipment, etc.)
    • Prepare the surface for painting
    • Fill in the job tracking sheet
  • Painting Phase:
    • Monitor spray booth conditions (humidity, temperature)
    • Prepare aerospace-grade paint
    • Spray paint onto flat-laid parts or hanging parts
    • Perform self-inspection
    • Complete documentation
    • Report any anomalies and suggest corrective measures
  • Decoration and Touch-Up Phase:
    • Mark out decorative elements and/or masked areas
    • Inspect and carry out touch-ups (using spray gun or manual methods)
Key skills required
  • Strong sense of logistical organisation

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Knowledge of aeronautic paint application techniques

Surface Treatment
Operator

Responsible for applying anti-corrosion protection to aluminium or steel parts through chemical conversion, electrochemical processes, or electrolytic deposition.

Work is carried out on surface treatment lines, either manually, using an overhead crane, or under automated control.

Main tasks
  • Review the manufacturing order
  • Execute operations according to process instructions
  • Record all operations performed
  • Inspect treatments according to control procedures
  • Follow established procedures
  • Perform first-level maintenance
  • Comply with safety, protection, and hygiene guidelines
Key skills required
  • Strong sense of logistical organisation
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Knowledges of the required surface treatments for different parts

Polyvalent Operator

Responsible for manual preparation or finishing operations on parts before or after the application of paint.

Work is carried out in the surface treatment or painting workshop.

Main tasks
  • Masking: Protect areas of parts that must not be painted
  • Unmasking: After painting, remove all protective elements to reveal the finished part
  • Marking: Use an inkjet marking machine to apply the designated reference number to each part
  • Packing: Carry out final inspection and prepare parts for dispatch
  • Pre-treatment assembly: Assemble components prior to treatment
  • Post-treatment disassembly: Dismantle components after treatment
Key skills required
  • Enjoyment of manual work
  • Attention to detail, focus, precision, and care in execution

Inspector

Quality Inspector: Ensures that production complies with specifications and acts as the on-the-ground representative of the Quality Assurance policy defined by Management.

NDT Inspector: Carries out inspections to assess material integrity using two specific methods: fluorescent penetrant inspection and magnetic particle inspection.

Main tasks

Quality Inspector

  • Inspection role: Based in the workshop, uses control instructions to verify the conformity of parts during processing.
    At the final stage in the last workshop, certifies the alignment between the customer order, internal manufacturing order, and the service performed, by issuing a certificate of conformity.
  • Advisory role: Acts as a mentor and advisor to operators; ensures qualifications are correctly applied and that processes are properly followed.

NDT Inspector

  • Inspect parts using pre- and post-emulsified fluorescent penetrant testing to detect surface defects.
  • Inspect ferromagnetic parts using bench magnetic particle testing to detect surface and subsurface defects.
Key skills required

Quality Inspector

  • Knowledge of surface treatment or painting processes
  • Assertive personality with strong critical thinking
  • Strong interpersonal and teaching skills

NDT Inspector

  • Precision, focus, and excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to read technical drawings; basic knowledge of metallurgy, materials science, or general mechanics

Industrial equipment operator

Operates, maintains, and supplies an automated production unit for paint application, in compliance with safety standards and production requirements. 

Reports to the Production Unit Supervisor and the Production Manager.

Holds functional authority (instructions and various requests) over workshop staff with respect to workstations, resources, and production flow. Works closely with all support departments, sharing technical information (maintenance, quality, logistics, development, etc.).

Main tasks
  • Comply with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) instructions 
  • Check the documentation 
  • Ensure parts match the job specifications
  • Record all operations performed 
  • Confirm the integrity of the parts 
  • Coordinate and regulate production activity 
  • Carry out preventive maintenance operations: Daily first-level maintenance and Second-level maintenance as per defined schedule 
  • Inspect, diagnose, and report breakdowns 
  • Adhere to production flow, hygiene, and safety requirements 
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards 

 

Key skills required
  • Knowledge of all relevant industrial paint standards 
  • Ability to operate equipment (robots, tanks, mixers, etc.) 
  • Proficiency in cleaning and maintaining equipment
